and her beautiful dolls

I have been designing ooak dolls for 2 1/2 years. It all began when I happened upon "OOAK" in many of the Barbie listings, when searching for a particular collectible doll. I was fascinated by the uniqueness and the character of each ooak doll I ran across. I also ran across an article in Barbie Bazaar of another OOAK artist and was blown away by her creations. Having a love for drawing and painting, I took an old doll and painted over her face. After I was finished with the repaint, I made clever use of a glue gun (since I had never sewn a stitch in my life) and voila--I had my first creation. LOL! A few months later I bought myself a sewing machine, and taught myself how to sew (especially after learning that most glue is a no-no). My favorite types of dolls to make are gothic dolls as well as dolls in trendy daywear. However, I have also forayed into fantasy, bridal and evening wear. My favorite dolls to work with are Steffie,Mackie, and Teen Skipper. It is a nice feeling to take an ordinary doll and make her into something special and unique.
