billowing ballgowns and serene faces are qualities of

and her lovely dolls

My name is Jean MaDan, and I've been involved in customizing fashion dolls for about four years now. I live in the desert in southern Arizona, about midway between Phoenix and Tucson. John, my husband of 35 years is my biggest fan, and makes it possible for me to do dolls full time. I have two grown sons, both married, and two grandsons. I'm owned by my tiny pomeranian dog, Baby. I did construction work until I had to stop due to health issues. (I can roof a house, do brickwork, framing, electrical, plumbing, lay tile, hang and finish drywall, paint and wallpaper! However, it's too physically demanding for me to do much of that anymore.) I stumbled across customized dolls on eBay, and couldn't resist giving it a try, never dreaming it would turn into a full time business. I started out with Barbie, and still do a few of those, but my real love is doing Gene repaints. Here are a few of my favorites from my galleries:

Blue Waltz was featured in Jim Faraone's Fashion Doll Makeovers IV book

a beautiful Steffie repaint

This was Melanie, my version of Olivia de Havilland in Gone With The Wind

This was my version of Liz Taylor

Courtesan is probably my all time favorite repaint. I just loved everything about the way she turned out. The second photo is of her wearing the gown by Traveler in Thyme.

Lilac Mood is my most recent dressed Gene, and I really love this gown! :-)
