Janet Caudle

nostalgic appeal and classy details are hallmarks in the work of
Janet Caudle

and her pretty dolls

Janet Caudle is from Bowie, Texas and loves playing with dolls! She started customizing when her sister Tina came to her with a fashion makeover book called "Fashion Doll Makeovers" by Jim Faraone. She knew Janet wanted desperately to go back to designing fashions for Barbie. So one day she brought her the book and said, "Here you go sister, I know you can do this." Along with this book she gave her an information sheet on entering a "Charice Makeover Contest." So she dared Janet to do a Charice Makeover & design for her a fashion. Janet said, "I giggled at her, shook my head and said... All right! All right, I'll do it." As a matter of fact, Janet did 3 Charice Makeovers, and her Charice in "Sapphire Princess" won first place. That was the starting point for her into the world of OOAK Makeover Fashion Dolls.

Janet's favorite face molds to work with are the Vintage Reproduction and Mackie face molds. Her favorite colors to work with vary, but she says she finds herself working with lots of grays, blacks, reds & whites. Janet states that she has also found earth tones to be one of her favorite tones to work with. To Janet, the most rewarding part of dollmaking is when she can finally sit back and look at her completed creation. Janet feels that it really puts her in awe of it all, "especially when you get that email from the collector who has just purchased your doll. Their words that express their feelings about your workmanship is the most rewarding part of dollmaking. Knowing that your creation has become of part of their family to cherish for years and years, maybe even through generations to generations. What more can a dollmaker ever ask for?"
