Entry #5: Blue Hawaii by Meredith Tanzer
Blue Hawaii was created especially for this contest.
It is made up of 4 dolls-- MeaPaleOKeKai (Mimi), Kana
(Theresa), (Kimo) Ken and a (Ioana) TRU knock-off. The
dolls have all been fully repainted and the Kana has
been partially rerooted both head and eyelids. The
MeaPaleOKeKai doll is now sporting a long black wig
and has been fully painted.
The acessories on and all around the dolls are from
Hawaii..including the sand which travelled with me
from Maui. (Nope, did not mention that to
agriculture:)) Kimo is playing the Ukuele, Kana on the
hand drum and MeaPaleOKeKai accompanies Ioana with the
'uli 'uli, a small gourd which is hallowed out and
filled with seeds, shells or pebbles.
The Blue Hawaii Glass/Cocktail was designed by using
an oversized cocktail glass filled with a blue tinted
Gel Wax candle (which is difficult to see in these
picts). The cocktail glass is accessorised with cute
paper umbrellas and a flower native to Hawaii.
My name is Meredith T. and I have been customizing
dolls on and off for about 3 years. I like dolls that
seem a little more realistic in terms of dress and
attitude.
I love to work with all types of dolls and I am
currently obsessed with Mimi dolls.
