Angela started customizing because she couldn't afford the collectible dolls in Barbie Bazaar,
and it was an outlet for her creative energy. She enjoys making stories to go
with the dolls she creates. Her favorite color is green,
her favorite style is fantasy, and her favorite face mold is Mackie.
Her next project is going to be the host doll for the Survivor contest.
Angela's other hobbies include cross-stitching, feeding her Sims addiction, playing Lego with her nephew, and writing
Harry Potter fanfic. Professionally, she calls people and very nicely asks
them to pay their bills or lose their satellite TV service.
Most of Angela's OOAK dolls are created
for contests. She first took the plunge in the very first BMAA contest,
the International phase. She hadn't thought of entering, but her friends
encouraged her to do so, and all the hard work was worth seeing her doll
in a magazine. Once she joined the CustomDolls list, there were a lot
more contests to enter!
After contests, Angela usually creates dolls for swaps. She is slowly
developing a collection of customized Midge dolls, although she
appreciates receiving dolls with other face molds.
Angela also enjoys the photography part of being a customizer. The
neighbours are used to seeing her sprawled on a blanket on the lawn,
pointing her camera at a doll. With the upcoming Survivor contest,
Angela is going to be really challenged. It is also the perfect excuse
to buy a digital camera!
